Chapter 16 of my textbook covers artificial intelligence and robotics techniques – topics which raise a lot of thought provoking questions that relate to both TOK and ITGS, including “Can a machine think?” and “Can a machine be creative?”.
The Painting Fool is an artificial artist somewhat akin to AARON; a computer program able to create original images. The web page contains technical details about how the program works, videos of it in action, and of course, galleries of the images it creates.
There are also links to related work, including a BBC Horizon programme, The Hunt for AI (available to watch online for UK viewers) and a BBC News article Can computers have true artificial intelligence?
