Perpetual Ocean visualization

Ocean currents visualization

Perpetual Ocean is a visualization of ocean current data. Data is collected using data logging techniques and satellite imaging, and processed by a computer model known as Estimating the Circulation and Climate of the Ocean, Phase II (ECCO2). The resulting animations from NASA are both beautiful and a great example of how computer visualizations can be used to easily, well, visualize, complicated concepts.
