Nightclub bouncers ask for Facebook as proof of ID – this couldn’t go wrong

Bouncers (actually I believe they prefer to be called ‘doormen’ these days – or perhaps even ‘door people’) in some UK nightclubs are asking clients to show their Facebook pages as proof of identity and verify that they are over 18, according to a BBC Newsbeat report.

Not satisfied with traditional forms of paper identification (which they fear could be forged) these bouncers are asking potential clients to log into their Facebook account to cross-check their names. Phew – good job nobody ever created a fake Facebook profile….
